Here is our delicious, and much talked about, recipe for Berry Fruit Bar.
150g (5½oz) Butter
55g (2oz) dark brown soft sugar
397g can carnation condensed milk
1tbsp golden syrup
250g (9oz) porridge oats
115g (4oz) dried cranberries, cherries, blueberries (you can use sultanas, walnuts, its also nice with a tropical fruit mix)
25g (oz) dried apricots – sliced
75g (3oz) pumpkin seeds
You will need 8 x 11 inch baking tin lined with baking parchment
Preheat oven to 180c, 350 or gas mark 4
In a large saucepan melt the butter and sugar together over a low heat, add the condensed milk and golden syrup. Stir. Remove from the heat and stir in the oats and the fruit. Press into the tin and bake. Allow to cool and then cut into bars.
