This course is designed to teach the basics, from understanding the essential spices, Indian herbs and other ingredients that will give you the confidence when creating your mouthwatering Indian food.

We are delighted that Prett Tejura is returning to the Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School to deliver her Indian Cookery Masterclass.

With over 10 years experience in teaching, Prett aims to move curry and Indian food lovers away from uninspiring takeaways and jar based recipes by giving them the confidence to cook more adventurous and authentic Indian cuisine from scratch at home. Prett hopes her easy family recipes will inject enthusiasm to explore new tastes and spice combinations, from day to day cooking, to the celebration dishes you’ll never find outside the Indian home, and even some of the authentic street food of Mumbai.

You may know the spices, but do you know how they work? Understanding the role of different spices and how they interact is an intricate and important part of Indian cookery. Prett will guide you through what to use and share lots of useful hints, tips and shortcuts along the way

This course is designed to teach the basics, from understanding the essential spices, Indian herbs and other ingredients that will give you the confidence when creating your mouthwatering Indian food.

This involves cooking a 3 course meal, dishes may include:

  • Chicken makhani
  • Chicken Masala
  • Lamb rogan josh
  • Okra and onions
  • Onion bhajis
  • Spicy Aubergine mash
  • Rice and breads
  • A dessert
