We are thrilled that local food ambassador David Nowell has joined the team as a guest chef.  David was born and bred in East Yorkshire training at Hull College and working at Willerby Manor before travelling further afield to learn from some of the country’s top chefs. The hotels included Kildwick Hall, Pennyhill Park, Turnberry and The Dorchester before returning home to settle. Chairman of The East Yorkshire Food Network and a passionate user of high quality seasonal produce, David loves to share his knowledge and believes he will never stop learning new ways to create food.

David has designed a class to take advantage of in season, locally sourced game. Learn more about this underused but wonderful food.  Your freezer need never have a pheasant languishing in it again!  During the day we will prepare three different game dishes some of which will be your lunch and the remainder will be yours to take home.

  • East Yorkshire Partridge Breasts and Bon Bons with Sloe Gin, Marjoram and Fondant Potatoes
  • Wold Top Ale Game Pie – Pheasant, Rabbit, Venison and Smoked Bacon, Chestnut Mushrooms, Pumpkin and Headlands Red Beer in Shortcrust Pastry
  • Game Terrine and Mulled Fruits, Roast Chestnuts and Sage Crisps
