Lynne Dodgson

Supervisor

Lynne has been part of the team since 2010. A talented cook, Lynne is responsible for the catering at Highfield Farm and has fed 100's of guests in her 10 years at the School!

Georgina Renfrew

Household Manager

Georgina has been part of the team since 2012 and has recently taken on the position of Household Manager. Born with a stones throw of the Cookery School, George now lives in Beverley but loves travel and the great outdoors.

Rachel Kirkwood

Tutor

Rachel’s love of cooking began as a child helping her mother make a range of delicious cakes and pastries for the family.  Before teaching at Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School, Rachel completed Pru Leith's short advanced course and Bishop Burton's "School of Food and Wine" and the City and Guilds courses where she was taught by another of the schools tutors, Linda Latus!

Linda Latus

Tutor

Linda first discovered her passion for food as a student at Bishop Burton College. Mastering the skills to produce good, flavourful food was inspirational to her and this lead to second passion, teaching. Linda returned to Bishop Burton College as a lecturer where she taught for 26 years.

Sally Gardner

Tutor

In addition to working as a cook for private clients in lodges and houses around the country, Sally also works as a chef in an Edinburgh-based catering company. She works as a freelance cookery teacher at the Edinburgh New Town Cookery School, which is where she trained in 2015.
Prior to embarking on her cooking career, she worked as a secondary English teacher for ten years, so teaching is very much part of who she is and something she loves doing.

Alison Johnson

Business Development Manager

Alison has been part Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School since opening in 2010. Although having no previous experience in the catering or food industry she has always held a passion for fine food and is delighted to be helping run this increasingly popular venue for families, friends and business colleagues.

The Cookery Classroom

Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School has been finished to a very high specification with the latest appliances and equipment.  There is no need to share on our day classes, we have plenty of blenders for everyone!  There are four island cooking stations each with a Falcon Rangemaster induction hob and double oven. One of the stations can be lowered to accommodate people who may prefer to sit.

Our Story

The school is located at Highfield Farm, a farmstead owned by the Rymer family, owners of JSR Farms and JSR Genetics.  It was used to house livestock and grain but rest assured, the piggies have moved out!  Converted in 2010, the farmstead has been carefully renovated to provide a home for the Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School and Highfield Farm Guest Accommodation.
